IPOLE IS A POLE FITNESS AND DANCE STUDIO THAT TEACHES DIFFERENT FORMS OF DANCE BUT WITH A MAIN FOCUS ON POLE FITNESS AND THE ART OF SENSUAL (SASSY) FITNESS. OUR CLASSES INCLUDE THREE LEVELS OF POLE DANCING: BEGINNER, INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCED AS WELL AS SENSUAL FITNESS, STRETCH AND TONE, REGULAR FITNESS AND BODY CONDITIONING CLASSES. IPOLE STRIVES TO PROVIDE A SAFE, PROFESSIONAL ENVIRONMENT FOR ALL OF OUR STUDENTS, WHERE THEY CAN LEARN A NEW AND EXCITING FORM OF FITNESS. ONE THAT PROVIDES AN AMAZING SOURCE OF STRESS RELEASE, AND INSTILS A FEELING OF EMPOWERMENT IN WOMEN. WITHIN A VERY SHORT PERIOD OF TIME STUDENTS CAN SEE IMPROVEMENTS IN THEIR STRENGTH AND ENDURANCE AND ARE INSPIRED TO LEARN MORE.

AVIVA HANAN

FITNESS INSTRUCTOR

Has been teaching pole dancing and fitness since 2012 where she completed her pole 1 training. She further completed her pole 2 training in 2014. She is a registered fitness instructor with PDCSA (Pole Dance Community South Africa). Aviva also qualified as a pilates instructor through Trifocus Fitness Academy in 2010. Aviva focuses on the technique of pole and the students love her highly energetic demeanor.

FITNESS INSTRUCTOR

She discovered Pole Fitness in 2011 and was hooked from her first class. She loves the challenge of pole and the fact that it combines strength, flexibility and grace all in one sport. She Qualified as a pole fitness instructor in 2016 and is enjoying the new challenge of teaching pole fitness. Her classes focus on body conditioning and strength building.


KIRSTY BECKER

FITNESS INSTRUCTOR

Kirsty Started Pole in February 2016 and new straight away that she loved it. She enjoys how challenging it is and she enjoys how creative it makes her feel. She is able to express her weird and dramatic side through Pole. Since she started, Kirsty has competed in 5 Pole competitions and placed. these Include: •Pole Evolution 2016 ~ 1st Place Amature •Acro Pole Art Classic 2016 ~ 2nd Place Amature •Arnold Classic PCS 2017 ~ 1st Place Amature/Intermediate •Pole Art 2017 ~ 2nd Place Intermediate •Acro Pole Art Classic 2017 ~ 2nd Place Advanced Her Hobbies include: DIY, Hiking, Dancing and painting. Kirsty has just graduated her Bachelors in Education for foundation phase and is a Grade 000 Teacher. She will be the host to numerous Classes in 2018 including intermediate, contemporary, Polenastics for Kids and Men's Pole.

 

MANDY MOSS

FITNESS INSTRUCTOR

Mandy has been poling since 2014, where she immediately became addicted. She comes from a background of ballet and gymnastics. She qualified as a personal trainer in 2016 at Trifocus Fitness Academy and became a pole fitness instructor in the beginning of 2017. Her love for pole emulates through teaching where she focuses on making classes fun for all levels as well as concentrating on strength and fitness.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

• Out of studio parties that require a portable pole at the chosen premises, will be charged an extra R950.00 for pole hire and set up.
• Out of studio parties that require chairs for lap dancing at the chosen premises, will be charged an extra R300.00 for chair hire (10 chairs) and set up.
• Out of studio parties that are more than 12 km from our studio premises will be charged a travel fee of R7.00 per km for extra time and fuel.
• Your booking will only be confirmed once the 50 (fifty) percent deposit has been paid and your booking form is signed, completed and returned to us.
• Please note that no amendments to the booking will be allowed if they are not made within 10 (ten) days of the allocated party date.
• Please note that any cancellation not made within 10 (ten) days of the allocated party date will result in forfeiture of the deposit.
• We try to make every effort to accommodate you and your guests, however, please note that we are on a tight time schedule, so if you have booked the studio for 1 (one) hour and arrive late, your party will end at the time that was allocated for the party.
• The studio is available for hire for an additional hour before or after the function to do gifts at an additional fee of R200.00 per hour.
• Water and Energade will be for sale at the Studio for a cost of R5.00 and R12.00 respectively if needed.
• As pole dancing is a strenuous activity, we advise that you and your guests do not consume large amounts of alcohol so to limit the risk of injury to anyone at the party.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS:

An all over body workout that focuses on dance choreography as well as tricks using the pole. These classes are fun and challenging. We have different types and levels of classes so suit each and every student’s needs. All our classes are kept small to ensure each of our students get the individual attention they deserve.

The different types of Pole classes we offer are:

  • Pole Basics 101: This class is specifically aimed at beginner girls who are new to pole. The focus of this class will be to learn the basic moves and tricks of Pole. Here students will learn the correct technique of all the different tricks such as climbing, inverting and spinning correctly on the pole. This class is also great for those students who want to perfect their technique and works hand in hand to the flow classes so our students can build on both areas of pole.
  • Intro to Intermediate Pole: This class is the bridging class to prepare you for intermediate level. This class is also set up to increase students’ strength and flexibility as well as teach them more difficult tricks such as use of a spinning pole and a combination of moves.
  • Contemporary Flow: This class focuses on the choreography of a dance routine using both the pole and floor to tap into your dancer by fusing both pole and contemporary dance. This class also aims at accessing emotion and using it to your benefit. Students will learn balance, flexibility and fluidity of movement. Contemporary flow is a class for intermediate students, which highlights spacial awareness and allows you to express your inner creativity.
  • Sensual Flow: A new fun and sexy way to work out for students from all levels. This is a flow class that integrates many versions of sensual dance, from Hip Hop to Latino and even Contemporary. It is a high energy dance class that works out the whole body. Through the use of pole, floor and chair work we are able to express our inner vixen and allow ladies to feel sexy in their skin and to gain dance, rhythm and movement.
  • Intermediate Pole: This class is set up to increase students’ strength and flexibility as well as teach them more advanced tricks such as use of a spinning pole and pole combinations.
  • Advanced Pole: This class offers a more advanced level of pole fitness. The focus of this class is to encourage students to perform on stage and put together more complicated routines with more advanced tricks and combinations and focus on pushing student’s strength and flexibility.
  • Pole Jam: This class is more relaxed and does not take the normal structured class approach. This is an open practice time. The instructor will take you through warm up but then you are either free to work on your own or the instructor can help you with any moves you need to work on!
  • Power Pole: This class is designed to build the strength necessary for executing intermediate to advanced pole holds and transitions as well as correct technique of various pole grips. This is an intermediate to advanced level class focusing on inverted tricks with 2 to 3 points of contact.
  • Men’s Pole Classes: This is a male only class that works on the fitness and sport behind pole. These classes are intermediate/advanced classes that focus on upper body strength, core control and building flexibility similar to calisthenics. This is a trick and fitness based class.
  • Polenastics: This is an integrated program designed specifically for children aged 6 years and up. This program focuses on building mental and physical strength of children. It is a combination of basic gymnastics skills, rolls, handstands, stretch, balance and form using the pole. It also encourages fitness empowerment, contemporary dance flow and barre. Children will learn to be strong, flexible and motivated.
  • FITNESS CLASSES:Our fitness classes work as a great addition to our Pole classes. Pole Fitness requires lots of strength and discipline and these classes were created to assist our students with the strength and fitness needed for pole. Our fitness classes are open to students of all levels and are designed to ensure that each student is challenged no matter what their level of fitness may be.The different types of Fitness classes we offer are:
  • Fitness: This tailor made class is specifically targeted at clients who require extra body conditioning. Each week different elements such as stretching, toning or high impact fitness will be worked on which means classes are always fun and interesting. This class not only keeps you in tip top shape but it also assists with increasing your flexibility. We also use equipment such as therabands, ankle weights and stability balls to increase the fun and difficulty of the workout.
  • Sassy Fitness: This form of fitness is a fun and unique way to tone up and slim down whilst learning different styles of dance and incorporates the use of both the floor and chair. The focus in this class is both getting fit whilst looking sexy at the same time
  • Barre Fit: This is a full body and core workout using the Ballet Barre, weights and therabands. This class incorporates balance moves as well as cardio in order to tone and sculpt your body like never before.
  • Pole Flex: This stretch class uses traditional dancer stretching designed to help you increase your flexibility and range of movement. Classes begin with a warm-up then progress through a series of static and dynamic stretches designed to increase your range of movement and elongate muscles in your entire body. Using the floor, wall and pole, and a partner for some stretches to get a deeper stretch. A portion of the class is dedicated to improving splits, as well as back and shoulders for those back bending pole moves.
  • Pole Conditioning: This class is to get those abs nice and strong which will help you improve your pole work, not to mention getting that 6 pack! Your core is an essential aspect of your fitness which also helps prevent injury while exerting yourself. Most exercises will be done using the pole as well as other equipment as a tool and to assist you in accomplishing the best core workout. This class also incorporates balance moves and upper body strength all while activating your core which is also a great form of functional training. This class will make you stronger, leaner and fitter!

STUDENTS USING IPOLE’S EQUIPMENT AND OR PROPERTY DO SO AT THEIR OWN RISK THEREFORE WE ADVISE STUDENTS NOT TO USE THE POLES WITHOUT SUPERVISION OF THE INSTRUCTOR.
IT IS THE STUDENT’S RESPONSIBILITY TO CHECK THEIR POLE AND EQUIPMENT AT THE START OF EACH CLASS AND IF THERE IS A PROBLEM TO REQUEST ASSISTANCE FROM THE INSTRUCTOR.
STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO INFORM THE INSTRUCTOR OF ANY INJURIES OR AILMENTS AT THE START OF THE CLASS AND IMMEDIATELY IF ANY INJURIES OR AILMENTS SHOULD ARISE DURING THE CLASS.
STUDENTS MUST PARTICIPATE IN THE WARM UP AT THE START OF EACH CLASS. IF THEY ARRIVE LATE THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE TO WARM THEMSELVES UP.
NO ALCOHOL IS PERMITTED INTO THE STUDIO AND NO ALCOHOL MUST BE CONSUMED BEFORE OR DURING CLASS.

WHAT DO I WEAR?

PLEASE WEAR SOMETHING COMFORTABLE TO CLASS, WE PREFER IF YOU WEAR SHORTS AS THIS ALLOWS FOR BETTER GRIP ON THE POLES WHEN SITTING, CLIMBING ETC. IF YOU ARE NOT COMFORTABLE WEARING SHORTS, THEN YOU MAY WEAR GYM PANTS THAT ARE EASY TO ROLL UP FOR MOVES THAT REQUIRE EXTRA SKIN. A TIGHT FITTING TOP IS ALWAYS BEST, BUT ONCE AGAIN WEAR WHAT YOU ARE COMFORTABLE WITH.

WHAT NOT TO WEAR!

PLEASE DO NOT APPLY LOTION ON DAYS THAT YOU POLE DANCE, AS THIS MAKES THE POLE SLIPPERY AND WILL NOT ALLOW YOU OR ANYONE ELSE WHO USES THAT POLE TO ACHIEVE ANY MOVES ON THE DAY. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO WEAR SHOES, PLEASE WEAR BALLET SHOES, AND NO TRAINERS AS THESE RESTRICT YOUR MOVEMENT IN CLASS.

DO I NEED TO BRING ANYTHING ELSE?

PLEASE BRING WITH A BOTTLE OF WATER AND A SWEAT TOWEL AS WELL AS ANY GRIP AIDES THAT YOU WISH TO USE (THESE CAN BE PURCHASED FROM THE STUDIO SHOULD YOU NEED THEM).

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN INTRO CLASS AND A BEGINNER CLASS?

AN INTRO CLASS IS FOR FIRST TIMES, WE RECOMMEND ATTENDING AN INTRO CLASS SO THAT YOU ARE NOT OVERWHELMED BY OTHER STUDENTS WHO MAY HAVE ATTENDED POLE FOR A NUMBER OF MONTHS AND CAN ACHIEVE MORE ADVANCED MOVES, YOU WILL GET THERE ONE DAY TOO. BUT TO START IT IS ADVISED THAT YOU ARE WITH OTHER NEWBIES AND THIS WAS YOU WILL GET THE UNDIVIDED ATTENTION THAT YOU NEED AT FIRST.

WILL POLE DANCING HELP ME LOSE WEIGHT?

ABSOLUTELY! POLE DANCING IS A GREAT WAY TO TONE UP AND BUILD MUSCLE, IT IS A GREAT UPPER BODY AND CORE WORKOUT AND COMBINED WITH OUR FITNESS CLASSES ARE SURE TO HAVE YOU IN TIP TOP SHAPE.

HOW BIG IS THE CLASS?

WE ALLOW A MAXIMUM OF 2 PEOPLE PER POLE TO ENSURE THAT YOU GET THE MAXIMUM ATTENTION FROM YOUR INSTRUCTOR AND MORE ADVANCED POLE BUDDIES.

IS THERE AN AGE LIMIT FOR STUDENTS?

UNFORTUNATELY YOU MAY NOT ATTEND CLASSES IF YOU ARE UNDER THE AGE OF 16 AND WRITTEN PARENTAL CONSENT IS REQUIRED FOR ANYONE BETWEEN THE AGES OF 16 AND 18, HOWEVER THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS BEING TOO OLD.

DO YOU OFFER INSTRUCTOR TRAINING?

WE DO NOT OFFER INSTRUCTORS TRAINING, BUT YOU CAN COMPLETE YOUR COURSE THROUGH BODYMIND STUDIOS SHOULD YOU WISH TO.

ARE MEN ALLOWED?
